Very Upsetting

Hugh Neff had a lock on the Yukon Quest, amassing a titanic lead over the rest of the field and virtually guaranteeing himself victory–but then his team gave out on Eagle Summit, and that is where his race ended.

Conway Seavey was charging along in first place on the Jr. Iditarod, homeward bound with no sled tracks in front of him–he took a wrong turn and fell back a handful of positions.

Buddy Streeper was well on his way to his fifth consecutive victory at the Fur Rondy when a bizarre altercation with a fellow musher got him bounced out of the race.

With the Iditarod looming in just under a week, I think it bears pointing out that there seems to be a pattern forming here.

Thanks for tuning in–more to follow….
