Dominant Force

A quick thought to share with all of you about the state of long distance dog mushing in the lower 48–

In my opinion, Ryan Anderson of Ray Minnesota is the new dominant force in the continental United States. With a lifetime of mushing experience to back him up, Ryan has put together 2 solid years of sweeping ultra competitive distance races, winning something like 7 titles (and the 2011 season isn’t over yet) in the past 14 months.

This year alone, he has won the White Oak Classic, the John Beargrease Marathon, and the UP 200. And it bears mentioning that not only is he winning these races, he’s winning them gracefully, leaving plenty of power & endurance over for the next event. In other words, he’s making it look easy.

If you’re a fan of mushing–watch this talented young man very closely.

If you’re a lower 48 dog musher wondering where to go to beef up your kennel with dog power, start building a relationship with him–he is where the real action is.

Thanks for tuning in–more to follow….

Jason, I know you are out of mushing for a couple of years. Did I miss something, though. Where are your dogs?

    • Hi Marlene đŸ™‚ Yes, I am indeed “out” of dogs for the time being–mostly, they have all been re-homed in about 5 different kennels from here to Alaska, good friends all.
